When Did Money Become the Measure of a Good Life?
I was reading a book the other day and came across a sentence that made me pause for a minute.
“Money has become the symbol of victory. If I have it, I’ve won. If I don’t, I’m a failure.”
That sentence hit something in me. Not because it was new, but because it felt so loud. So many of us are walking around with this hidden rulebook: If you don’t have the car, the house, the bag, the job, the trips, the big accomplishments… you’re not winning.
But what if we’ve been measuring it all wrong?
The Truth About “Winning”
Somewhere along the way, society rewired our definition of success. Now, success = accumulation. More things, more likes, more zeros in your account. If you don’t have it, you’re seen as behind. And if you do? You’re still chasing. Exhausted. Anxious. Disconnected. Because your soul didn’t ask for more - it asked for peace.
The book reminded me: we’ve mistaken the means for the end.
Money isn’t the prize. It’s a tool.
A beautiful tool, yes - but not the destination.
Are You Building a Life, or Performing One?
When you’re not connected to your purpose, it’s easy to start building a life for the outside world. You dress it up. You decorate it with goals that don’t belong to you. You follow paths that were never yours. And then you wonder why it still feels empty.
We forget that we are not just a body with bills.
We are a soul with a mission.
And your soul isn’t impressed by your income - it’s nourished by truth, connection, meaning, and presence.
What the Soul Really Wants
Your soul doesn’t care about the brand of your car or how many TikToks went viral this month. It wants alignment. Wholeness. That deep feeling of “I’m where I’m meant to be.”
But when we move from scarcity - always trying to prove, to catch up, to secure safety - we disconnect from that truth.
The problem isn’t money. It’s when money becomes the only thing.
We start chasing without asking why.
We confuse survival with fulfillment.
We forget that being rich in soul is a currency too.
Let’s Redefine What It Means to “Have It All”
Imagine a life where money supports your dreams - but doesn’t define your worth.
Where your value isn’t based on what you earn but on how deeply you live.
Where success means waking up in peace, creating with purpose, and giving from overflow.
That’s the version of abundance I’m calling in - and I know I’m not alone.
A Gentle Reminder from My Heart to Yours
You are not behind. You are not late. You are not less.
The world might try to measure your worth in digits and things - but your soul knows better.
True wealth is knowing who you are, what you carry, and why you’re here.
And that kind of success? You already have it inside you.
With love,
